This is a traditional autumn festival that takes place at a quiet shrine surrounded by trees. This three-day festival starts with Noh and Kyogen—traditional performing arts that take place on a Noh stage. A procession of floats and portable shrines where divine spirits reside goes through the shrine parishioner district. It's followed by hand-held fireworks, in which flames vigorously shoot out of hand-held bamboo tubes, and other traditional events that are a must-see for those coming to Japan. Floats that are beautifully decorated to reenact Japanese myths are towed around the town by the shrine parishioners. Each float is surrounded by the festival music composed of taiko drums and flutes that local leaders play. You can experience a traditional festival like the ones Japanese people held for various gods long ago.
