Toyone-Midoriko Half Marathon

In fall, the tree leaves in Toyone Village change colors earlier than anywhere else in Aichi Prefecture. The peak foliage coincides with this marathon event. In the fresh, clear air, runners sprint through the breeze by the side of Lake Midori. The spectators next to the route cheering for them makes for a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The prize after the run is kinokojiru soup, served to all participants. This miso soup with plenty of mushrooms produced locally in Toyone will warm your body right up and sooth your weariness. In addition, there'll be a raffle, in which your bib number serves as a lottery number, and you can win packs of local vegetables and other prizes.
