Blessed with trees and abundant clear water, Toyone Village is raising sturgeon. The luxury food caviar is made from sturgeon's roe! Caviar has not been harvested yet, but the sturgeon, which has been eaten by royalty and nobility, is given the brand name "Royal Fish" and raised with great care. At Toyone Green Port Miyajima, you can try food made with this Royal Fish. The dishes made with sturgeon and plenty of vegetables, like "Chozame Dango no Kozu Teishoku" (set meal with sturgeon dumplings in vinegar sauce), are very popular with the locals. Besides that, the roadside station also carries fresh vegetables, a local traditional food called gohei-mochi, products made from Toyone specialty blueberries, and more.
